"Our most primitive sense, the sense of smell, allows you to remember up to 10,000 different smells. To primitive men and women, the sense of smell was as important as it still is for many animals, only modern civilization has made us neglect its influence. The sense of smell is one of the earlist means by which we form a bond with the world. When we are born, the first thing we do it take a deep breath, inhaling the different odours in the air."
This week I received a bunch of perfume samples in the mail and when going through them all, its so crazy all the different things I was thinking and feeling! The next day I decided to purchase some off of sephora.com.
One of the samples I got was BVLGARI -- BVL II:
I think everything about the packaging and advertisement looked like a scent that just wasnt me. When I smelled it-- I was very VERY surprised! it was so amazing!! I think its described as an "oriental" type of scent. It just smelled so comforting and warm, soft-- BUT WAIT A DAMN MINUTE-
That shit is straight up $25 for .35 oz. Thats the cheapest they have it and that size is pretty much a sample size. Something that Im only going to get to wear a couple of times and its out.
SOOOOOOOOOO I decided to purchase this rollerball for $18:
Yea yea yea
Princess. I know. Its usually not my thing- but online it says that its similar in scent, its $18, and it will definitely last way longer. Worst case- I'll just give it to my sister.
Also purchased:
Very Irresistable Givenchy Roll-On
A floral scent that I also really enjoyed from the samples.
So Im stoked to get these in the mail and wear them- these rollerballs are a great deal if youve never heard of them. They are usually very fairly priced, can fit anywhere (purse, etc), and last quite a while.
Theres just something about dropping $100 on a perfume that just doesnt sit well with me.
Last item I purchased was:
The small size of course... haha

It is quite a wonder, the little nose of ours can remember 10,000 smells. But in the modern clinical world of today, the smells in the air must be greatly reduced.... ~bangchik
