Sunday was a Fun Day

This is what I harvested from my garden on Sunday. The arugula is so spicy! I also munched on a couple of young cauliflower greens and they were also spicy! Crazy...

Some Pictures Before Work

Here are some scallions that I had purchased to eat, but never got around to em. I decided to place them in a cup of water and over the course of a couple of days- they grew some new roots so i decided to plant them. Never tried this method before but I have read about some people who have and turned out growing SUPER MEGA CRAZY SCALLIONS. I hope they get to that extreme level...

BTW: Did you know that you can eat the flowers of impatiens? Seems like grandma's favorite flowers are a bit more useful then I thought.

RHUBARB!
If you know me at all, you know how much I love Rhubarb. Last year I had posted on this blog about how sad I was that Rhubarb just wasnt available to eat and cannot grow in my climate.. Im still pretty sure this plant will never grow as well down here in Miami than other areas such as the UK- but Im willing to give it a try.
Last year I stumbled upon frozen rhubarb in my local grocery store and really really enjoyed making pies and whatnot with it. About a couple of weeks ago- BEHOLD! My grocery now carries FRESH rhubarb (but its all wrapped up in seran wrap and nonsense).. very excited about maybe more baking with the fresh stuff.
Yesterday I stumbled upon the PLANT at my local home depot and of course HAD to purchase it. I really hope it does well- at least a little bit, and I will most definitely post its progress here on this blog.. I feel as though I should name him...

And Lastly:

I harvested some Cauliflower yesterday. Cooked it up and ate it with butter, salt, and pepper- AMAZING. So Good.

What a day

What an incredible Sunday- terrible nights sleep and decided to go out and purchase tons of plants and garden garden garden. Trying my hand at "patio" tomatoes this time.. Have them in a container- I think this is going to work out better. My tomatoes just weren't doing well in my raised bed anymore. Also trying my hand at green peppers AGAIN for the tenth time it seems.

I will post up pictures probably tomorrow that I took with my camera (no iPhone pics this time).
Oh! I harvested two small heads of cauliflower today as well- cooked them up and ate them with some butter, salt, and pepper. They were so fresh and delicious- I can't hardly wait for more!!

A big thank you to Jillian for all of her great lush bath melts, bombs, and bubble bars. I am enjoying them so very much at this very moment ;)

Enjoy the rest of your Sunday everyone

Lush Haul

This combination is what I think God smells like.
*(Godiva Solid Shampoo: We pack it with nutritious cocoa and Shea butters to soften, condition and loads of shine, making it a two-in-one (but really the jasmine perfumes your hair too, making it more of a three-in-one).
*(We begin with honey water for softening locks, then add delicious fresh strawberries full of vitamins to nourish, and make your hair very shiny. American Cream is a deliciously fruity conditioner to make your hair shiny and soft, and give off the delightful fragrance of vanilla, strawberries and oranges)
**NOTE: I dont really think American Cream smells nearly as fruity as it is described on their website... but thats a good thing- trust me.

*(Strawberry Feels Forever Massage Bar: Made with fresh crushed strawberries for a sumptuous massage treat! Melt the cocoa and shea butter with your hands or rub it all over your sweetheart to make massaging go smoother. The delectable fragrance of strawberries mixed with hibiscus flower infusion will release for a sensual massage.)

*(Jumping Juniper Shampoo Bar: Lavender and rosemary are two herbs you really want if you're having trouble in the oil production department. This shampoo bar jumps into action to sort out any oil problems. It's the only shampoo we know of that smells like a gin and tonic; it's made with the essential oils of juniper berry and lime which smell good, but also decongest the scalp. Next time you're having oil issues, wash with this lovely tonic, then drink a tonic to celebrate your lovely locks.)
**NOTE: I havent tried this one yet, nor have i smelled it. I have a feeling its just going to be awesome.

*(Rub Rub Rub Shower Scrub: Extra cleansing, mineral rich sea salt gently scrubs your skin while the scent of mimosa, jasmine and hints of citrus fill the shower. The floral fragrance is what we imagine a sea breeze blowing through cherry blossom trees should smell like (much like our Sakura bath bomb and solid fragrance as well). It's so wonderful we can't help but squeeze the bottle right over top of our heads and lather ourselves all up with it from head to toe.)

**NOTE: This is what God's sister smells like. AMAZING.

_____
I should be receiving this package soon.. at least I think and HOPE so. :)
I think I love LUSH so much because it brings back great memories of when Jill and I used to work there.
Can we go back in time?!

Our Sense of Smell

I have been on a perfume kick lately.. Its so comforting when you smell a certain scent that just instantly makes you feel so good and reminds you of good times. Heres more info:
"Our most primitive sense, the sense of smell, allows you to remember up to 10,000 different smells. To primitive men and women, the sense of smell was as important as it still is for many animals, only modern civilization has made us neglect its influence. The sense of smell is one of the earlist means by which we form a bond with the world. When we are born, the first thing we do it take a deep breath, inhaling the different odours in the air."

This week I received a bunch of perfume samples in the mail and when going through them all, its so crazy all the different things I was thinking and feeling! The next day I decided to purchase some off of sephora.com.

One of the samples I got was BVLGARI -- BVL II:

I think everything about the packaging and advertisement looked like a scent that just wasnt me. When I smelled it-- I was very VERY surprised! it was so amazing!!  I think its described as an "oriental" type of scent. It just smelled so comforting and warm, soft-- BUT WAIT A DAMN MINUTE-
That shit is straight up $25 for .35 oz. Thats the cheapest they have it and that size is pretty much a sample size. Something that Im only going to get to wear a couple of times and its out.
SOOOOOOOOOO I decided to purchase this rollerball for $18:

Yea yea yea
Princess. I know. Its usually not my thing- but online it says that its similar in scent, its $18, and it will definitely last way longer. Worst case- I'll just give it to my sister.

Also purchased:

Very Irresistable Givenchy Roll-On

A floral scent that I also really enjoyed from the samples.
So Im stoked to get these in the mail and wear them- these rollerballs are a great deal if youve never heard of them. They are usually very fairly priced, can fit anywhere (purse, etc), and last quite a while.
Theres just something about dropping $100 on a perfume that just doesnt sit well with me.

Last item I purchased was:

The small size of course... haha

My first MAC Lipstick!

Mr. Jon Wolf had a few extra bucks on a Macy's giftcard and purchased this wonderful lipstick for me! Isn't he the best?
